Bean Counting

I found this page I created about a year and a half ago, and am not sure if the comparison of firepower is correct, nearly correct, or if I'm talking complete rubbish:

Comparative firepower: German vs. British Divisions 1917

German                        British

Per battalion:

LMG:            8/12/16 (MG 08/15)        16 (Lewis)

HMG:            6 (MG 08)            4 (Vickers)

Light Mortar:        4 (7.6cm)

Man-Carried Mortar:                    8 (Granatenwerfer)

Per Division:

Man-Carried Mortar:                    24 (3”)

Heavy Mortar:        4 (24cm)            4 (9.45”)

Medium Mortar:                    8 (17cm)            12 (6”)

HMG:            6/12/18            16 (Vickers)
                        48 (Vickers)

Battalion assets x 9:                    x 12:

LMG:            72/108/144        192

HMG:            54            48

Light Mortar:        36

Man-Carried Mortar:                    72

Total per Division:

LMG:            72/108/144        198

HMG:            60/66/72            64

Man-Carried Mortar:                    72            24

Light Mortar:        36

Medium Mortar:                     8            12

Heavy Mortar:        4            4

MG:            132/174/216        262
Mortars:                       120            40

Allocating points arbitrarily:

LMG = 1
HMG = 2
Man-Carried Mortar = 3
Light Mortar = 4
Medium Mortar = 5
Heavy Mortar = 6

German divisional points total = 616/664/712

British divisional points total = 482

Food for thought!

The Comsat Angels, Jock Campbell, Richard Feynman - forgotten heroes all.  Well, maybe not the Comsats quite so much.
