These are painted up as conscript infantry for my Rif War project. Dressed in Khaki 1914 style uniform with sun helmets (my rational is that conscripts would get older, poorer equipment). The style also makes them easy to identify on tabletop.
20mm figures, mostly Newline designs British Zulu Wars with some Strelets plastics filling the gaps.

Richard, nicely done, especially the officers with their 'man-stopper' revolvers! I second your approach to re-tagging 'commercial' era figures to suit what's needed. Have you seen the 1859 Italian infantry with 'sun-hats'
( Bersaglieri type minus the feather!) from Hat or Waterloo 1815 -although some 70 years 'pre- era' they have 'modern' looking uniforms and light equipment just right for 20th Century colonial actions- they make nice Naval detachments or local Levies.
